Excise duty refund on diesel for road transport: publication of new refund rates
THE NETHERLANDS: SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN NON-ALCOHOLIC TAX PER 01-01-2024
From January 1, 2024, the rate on non-alcoholic beverages will be significantly increased. The current rate of € 8,83 will become € 26,13 per hectoliter. Mineral water will be exempt from the non-alcoholic-tax.
The plan is to increase excise rates by 16,2%, but this has not yet been approved by the parliament.
Additionally, the calculation for beers will be changed from Plato degrees to alcohol percentage starting January 1.
